Inclement Weather/Emergency Closure

Graduate School USA Closure Policy

Graduate School USA mirrors the federal government’s Operating Status, as determined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). With regard to closings due to inclement weather or other emergencies, if the federal government is closed, the School will also be closed.

Should the federal government declare offices open and offer employees the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework, classes will begin at their normally scheduled start time (8:30 a.m. for most daytime classes and 6 p.m. for most evening classes).

If the federal government declares a 2 hour delayed opening, classes will begin 2 hours after their normally scheduled start time (usually 8:30 a.m. for most daytime classes). Check your confirmation letter for exact times.

When the federal government declares an early departure, the School will dismiss its classes earlier than normal, based on the circumstances. In those instances, evening classes and activities will be cancelled.

Closing updates will be available on the home page of our website. Classes missed due to these closings may be made up at no cost on a later date. Should you need to reschedule your class, please contact our Customer Relations Center on the next scheduled day of operation at (888) 744-4723 or [email protected].
